Do your heart problems originate at work?

A bad boss can wreak havoc on the healthA lot of people say their boss is a pain in the neck – but what about a pain in the heart?

New research from Sweden suggests that workers who perceive their managers as incompetent may be at higher risk for heart attack, angina and death, HealthDay News reports.

The findings, published online in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, reveal that men who think who think their bosses are poor leaders are more likely to suffer from heart problems – and the link grows stronger the longer the employee stays in his job.

Lead researcher Anna Nyberg suggested that improving the boss-worker relationship could have a positive effect on employee health.

“Managers have key roles in determining stress-related factors at work, which means that psychosocial work environment interventions could be directed towards managers in order to reduce stress in employees,” she was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, some people who are concerned about their cardiovascular health have turned to oral chelation, which may help promote healthy circulation throughout the vascular system.
