United States Soda Consumption

The United States consumes more soda than any other country in the world. Studies report that more than 58 billion liters are sold each year in the U.S. alone. The American Beverage Association (ABA) estimates that each person consumes about 600 12-ounce servings of soda per year and the average can of soda contains about 40 grams of sugar. This increased sugar intake can result in heart disease, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, kidney stones and tooth decay.
