Help Chronic Wounds Heal Faster

Researchers with University College London have developed a gel that may help chronic wounds heal faster. It works by interrupting how your cells communicate and preventing the production of a key protein that blocks healing. Studies estimate about 70 million Americans suffer from chronic wounds or ulcers as a result of the increasing number of diabetes cases. Currently, trials of the gel continue in the United Kingdom and a trial in the United States is pending.
