According to a new study from the University of Connecticut, eating protein in the morning helps manage hunger throughout the day. Researchers found that using eggs as a source of protein in the morning could help reduce calorie consumption by as much as 18 percent.
“There is a growing body of evidence that supports the importance of high-quality protein in the diet for overall health and in particular the importance of protein at the breakfast meal,” said study author Dr. Maria Luz Fernandez.
The study also supported previous research that individuals who are overweight lost 65 percent more weight when incorporating eggs into their diet than people who tried other weight loss methods.
