‘Miracle exercise’ grows popular in the U.S.

'Miracle exercise' grows popular in the U.S. Medical tai chi, a Chinese exercise that has been described by some as “the secret to anti-aging,” is proving increasingly popular with Americans, particularly as traditional healthcare costs continue to rise.

According to Healing Tao Retreats, medical tai chi, also known as qigong, looks similar to martial tai chi, but its slow movements are designed to boost the immune system and open acupuncture “chi” channels without using needles.

“Medical qigong is the mother of tai chi, but simpler to learn,” says Michael Winn, National Qigong Association ex-president, adding, “Yoga and martial tai chi styles are also healthy alternatives, but qigong is medically far more effective.”

“[It] can be targeted to heal specific mental or physical illnesses. I’ve witnessed countless healings in people abandoned by the medical system,” he emphasizes.

Winn also says the appeal of this technique lies in the fact that the less effort one makes, the more powerful the healing energy the exercise generates. As such, it helps elimite the need for sweaty gym training.

In the face of skyrocketing medical bills and the slow economy, many people have also turned to nutritional health supplements to boost their immunity and everyday energy level.
