Is sex important for women’s overall well-being?

Research suggests sex is important for overall healthAustralian researchers have found women who are sexually satisfied have overall better psychological well-being and vitality.

Researchers surveyed women between the ages of 20 and 65 who identified themselves as either satisfied or unsatisfied with their sexual function.

“We found that women who were sexually dissatisfied had lower well-being and lower vitality. This finding highlights the importance of addressing these areas as an essential part of women’s healthcare, because women may be uncomfortable discussing these issues with their doctor,” said the study’s lead author Dr. Sonia Davison.

They also found the frequency of sexual activity cannot be used as an indicator of sexual well-being, since many women said they continued to engage in sex regardless of whether they found it to be dissatisfying, due to either partners’ expectations or established behavior.

Low libido can affect women’s sexual health as well. According to herbal-supplements-guide.com, stress, depression and aging can lead to a decreased desire for sexual activity. Low hormone levels, alcoholism or side effects from medications can also affect libido.

Among the believed to enhance female sex drive are damiana leaf, black cohosh, gingko biloba and balck walnut.ADNFCR-1960-ID-19387444-ADNFCR
