According to a news reports, consumers who integrate grapes as part of a nutritional diet may also improve their cardiovascular health. The research, published in Nutrition Reviews and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, specifically outlines the benefits of grapes and grape products.
The review notes that previous studies have shown that grape seeds, juice and skins contain polyphenols that act as antioxidants to help the body fight harmful cells. In turn, grapes help to keep arteries clear and contribute to a person’s overall health.
The researchers also indicate that grapes may also play a key role in cognitive function. As people become older, their brain ages which makes them more susceptible to memory loss. The scientists suggest that grape products could help support the functioning in older adults that is age-related.
