Although there are many medications that claim to help with the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), there are also many alternative activities to increase your mental alertness and concentration span.
One such remedy is brain exercise therapy (BET), which is recommended by Annon Gimpel, M.D., author of Brain Exercises to Cure ADHD. He suggests that participating in brain-stimulating games, puzzles or problem solving can help boost your brain to build new brain mass and neural pathways.
Gimpel indicated that if youre ADHD, you may also suffer from major disorganization which can negatively impair your already-frazzled mental state. By regularly engaging in juggling, chess strategies, memory games or planning skills, you may see some improvement in your organizational skills.
